From childhood memories in the forest, to creating a family hub at Lyndhurst Park

Sue's Testimonial

When Sue started searching for a property to use as their family hub, they knew they wanted to be close to the New Forest. As a family, they have memories of running around the forest as children and now have children of their own.

After two years of searching, Sue discovered Lyndhurst Park online. Having spent a lot of time in Lyndhurst growing up with links to all of the surrounding areas through friends and family still living there, the location felt perfect. While they weren't actively looking for a new build, assuming they wouldn't find what they were looking for at a good price, Sue knew this was meant to be. "The New Forest is really where my heart is. So, it is exactly what we wanted.”

Sue and her immediate family moved away from the area years ago and are now based in Switzerland and Cornwall, but love coming back to the area. Without a central base, it had become difficult for the family to all meet up.

Currently based in Switzerland, Sue returns for most of the school holidays but hopes to increase visits as her children get older. With children aged 12 and 13, the family hopes to be back every month in the future. "The children love it. And that's so important for us, because they are English so we want them to feel comfortable and to know England, and to have somewhere they can go to as young adults. It's so important for our family to have this space."

The new build homes and apartments at Lyndhurst Park are completed to a high specification with bespoke elegant kitchens, integrated appliances and Quartz worksurfaces to the kitchen areas, flooring throughout and underfloor heating to all areas. Sue particularly loved the fact that everything was ready for them to move straight into.

When asked about the quality of the build, Sue said, "It's really nice and just perfect for what we need. The size is perfect, the quality of the bathrooms and the kitchen, the size of the rooms. It's all great. We were worried about the noise on the high street, but actually we can't hear the traffic as the windows are so good."

With Sue and her family not living in the home permanently, security was one of the key features they were looking for when searching for their 'family hub'. The apartments at Lyndhurst Park have secure entry door fobs or codes, which helped to reinforce their decision that this really was meant for them.

Location was another priority for Sue. "It has some great amenities on the doorstep, so we don't have to keep using the car, and it's also close to transport links. So, the location couldn't be any better really, if you want to be near the nature in the New Forest, near the coast, and also have amenities on your doorstep."

When it comes to making the most of their time in the area, Sue and her family enjoy exploring everything the local area has to offer. From walks in the forest, to a day at the coast as well as enjoying all of the local cafes and restaurants, whilst also exploring further afield to places like Southampton and Bournemouth.

For Sue, this represents much more than a simple property purchase. "It's more than a holiday home to us. It's a family base that the whole family will be using. Although, it was a bittersweet move having to sell our childhood home. We know we've made the right decision."
